The game features a huge lineup of players clearly inspired by legendary superstars past and present. Each team is represented by two famous faces. You can choose to play as the sharpshooting guards or the dominating big men. While the characters share core movesets, their "supers" and their height advantages play a crucial role in how you structure your offensive and defensive game plans.

Varied Game Modes

Basketball Legends doesn't just stick to standard 1v1 matchmaking. It offers several excellent modes to keep the gameplay fresh:

• Tournament Mode: Pick your team and run through a multi-stage bracket against increasingly difficult AI opponents to win the championship cup.
• Match Mode: Set up a quick exhibition game. You can choose to play 1v1 (one player vs one player), 2v2 (controlling one player while the AI controls your teammate), or even team up with a friend against two AI opponents.
• Training Mode: The perfect place to figure out how aiming works, how to properly execute a dash-steal, and how to trigger your super moves without the pressure of a ticking clock.

Game Controls and Mechanics

Despite being a visually simple arcade game, the mechanics offer serious depth. Knowing when to shoot versus when to pump-fake is vital.

Player 1 Controls (Keyboard Left Side)

• Move: W, A, S, D
• Shoot / Action: X (or B depending on layout)
• Super Shot: Z (or V)
• Pump Fake: S (while holding the ball on the ground)
• Dash: Double-tap A or D

Player 2 Controls (Keyboard Right Side)

• Move: Arrow Keys
• Shoot / Action: L
• Super Shot: K
• Pump Fake: Down Arrow (while holding the ball)
• Dash: Double-tap Left or Right Arrow

The Art of the Super Move

At the top of the screen next to your score, you will notice a meter that gradually fills as you successfully score, block, and steal. Once this bar reaches its maximum state, the icon will ignite.

When you have a full meter and possession of the ball, pressing the Super button initiates an unstoppable animation. Depending on where you are standing and your character type, you will either perform a blazing fast, unblockable three-pointer or fly through the air for a rim-shattering super dunk. Using these supers strategically—such as breaking a tie in the final ten seconds—is the key to winning tight matches.

Defense: The Best Offense

Scoring is fun, but defense wins championships. To stop an opponent from scoring, you have two options. You can use the 'Action' key while standing next to them to attempt a steal, but a missed steal leaves you out of position. The better strategy against strong opponents is to time your jumps to block their shots out of the air. If they jump, you jump a split second later to swat the ball away.
